Ultrasound, Echo & Endoscopy

EWAH can perform a POCUS (Point of Care UltraSound). Dr. Ludlow performs echocardiograms, ultrasounds, endoscopies, and fine needle aspirates of internal organs. Dr. Ludlow is a board-certified Internal Medicine Specialist and performs all of our ultrasounds, echocardiograms, and endoscopies. All scheduling is done through the office.

When your pet has an appointment with Dr. Ludlow, you will bring them to the hospital early in the morning.  They will stay with us for the day.  You may be asked to bring their favorite food or treat to have once the procedure has been performed.

Ultrasound is imaging with sound waves.  Ultrasound is a harmless, high-frequency sound beam – not detectable by humans or pets.  The pet will have the area of the body shaved to allow the ultrasound beam to penetrate the body.
Ultrasound examinations are complementary to X-rays.  They are especially useful in detecting abdominal diseases that X-rays are often unable to provide a definitive diagnosis.
