Here is our question and answer page of some common veterinary questions.

Where is the Veterinary hospital located?

We are located in Tropical Village plaza in Lutz on US 41 next to the Breakfast Nook.  We are across the street from the Super Walmart.

What areas do you service?

We service Lutz, Land O’Lakes, Wesley Chapel, Odessa, New Tampa, Carrollwood and North Tampa since these are 20 minutes or less away from our convenient location.

Why should I do annual blood work?

The veterinarian can not ask your pet how they feel.  The pets blood will tell a lot about their overall health and may let the doctor know about an issue early on so it can be treated effectively.

Why must my pet get an annual exam and vaccines (shots)?

When you give a vaccination your are forcing the pets body to have a immune response to the vaccine.  The response puts a stress on the pets immune system and if they are not completely healthy cause an adverse reaction that could cause an emergency.

What do I need to bring with me when we see the veterinarian?

Please bring any previous vaccination (shot) records, any medical records or notes and any medication that your pet is currently taking.

Why do I need to get a rabies vaccine and tag?

Rabies is a zoonosis disease.  Zoonosis refers to diseases that can be passed from animals to humans. They are sometimes called zoonotic diseases.  Though your pet does not need to vaccinated every year it is important that the county can identify that your pet is protected from this virus.  We do vaccinate every three (3) years to minimize over vaccination as long as the pet is current on the previously administered vaccine.
